Day 4 was a normal Sunday and Father’s Day. It was great except for the fact that severe weather was predicted again.
Before leaving for a family get-together to celebrate Father’s Day Spencer and his tree guy came over to scope out the pole building and general tree removal. There had been many tree companies passing by, most from out of the area (or even out of state), but I’m inclined to give local people the work, so I turned all of them down. One of them gave a quote for the complete cleanup that was fair, but Spencer’s tree guy was able to match it, so he scheduled it for early in the week after it dried out from the anticipated rain.
They were just leaving when the rain started. Since my rain gauge was damaged in the tornado, I don’t know how much we got, but the nearby creek overflowed. I’m on high ground so I didn’t get flooded, but it must have put plenty of water in the pole building. I hope my tarps stayed in place, but I haven’t had time to go out and check yet, and it’s already Tuesday as I write this.
I ended the day hoping for a productive week this week and hoping to get some of the cleanup started in earnest.
